Monday, 29 March 2021

Welcome to the March 2021 edition of our 2CC monthly newsletter, keeping you up to date with all things tech, telecoms and our team.

Meet the team - Martin

1. What is your favourite holiday destination?
A toss up between Saalbach and Miami. I'm a fan of snow and also the heat - unfortunately I haven't been able to find somewhere that does both...

2. What is the biggest challenge you have overcome?
Relocating to Russia then Bulgaria after university despite not knowing a word of the language.

3. Little known fact?
I am fluent in British Sign Language and once featured on the TV show 'Robot Wars' as an interpreter for my dad and his friends.

4. What is your favourite thing about telecoms?
The pace of change and the problems that it solves! Lockdown would have been a very different experience without it...

5. What is your favourite mobile handset?
I love my iPhone 12 Mini - it has all the 'Apple' benefits and still fits in my pocket.

6. What is your favourite app on your phone?
Amazon music and the podcast app - great for the car, home and office!

7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation - it would give me a better chance of going to all of the places I want to visit and seeing all of the people I want to see.

SPRING into action

March marks the beginning of spring and an end to the cold and dark days and nights, so we thought we'd share our top tips to help you SPRING into action and make the most of each day.

1 - Listening to your body and getting the right amount of sleep
Sometimes we need more time to recoup than usual, and that is completely okay. We have found that by not using technological devices after a certain time at night and picking up a book instead, we are getting more out of our sleep, waking up refreshed and ready for the day

2 - Positive affirmations and self-talk
Taking just 5 minutes in the mirror each morning to remind yourself that you are the BEST makes all the difference and sets you up for success.

3 - Journaling/Vision Boards
One of the things that we have found to be extremely helpful in motivating ourselves is writing things down. Whether this is your self-talk, your goals, your daily/weekly/monthly plan, a timeline of what you want to achieve and by when, etc. In addition to this, being able to VISUALISE things is super important, so we recommend creating a vision board to help you do this. You can add pictures of things related to your goals or places you want to go (in a post - COVID world of course!), things you want to do and put yourself one step closer to achieving it.

4 - Literature & Podcasts
As the old saying goes, knowledge is power! We have certainly found that to be true and enjoy reading/listening to informative material to help with mindfulness. At the moment, we are loving The High Performance Podcast on Spotify, which releases a handful of episodes per week and hosts a range of incredible people from entrepreneurs to athletes to actors and everything in between. It is so enlightening to listen to these life stories and dive into the secrets of success. Please click below to access the podcast and become inspired, as we have.

Celebrating the women of 2CC

Last week, the world celebrated International Women's Day, and here at 2Circles Consulting we would certainly be lost without our ladies. From keeping the lads in check day in, day out, to achieving all of the many things they do each day, the women in our office are outstanding. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do - we appreciate you so much.

Customer Spotlight

This month, we'd like to show our appreciation for one of our customers who constantly strive to help other people and who's generosity is admirable -the Isle of Harris Distillery. They are running a raffle at the moment, the prize being a beautiful, sought-after Isle of Harris gin 'Ceilidh' bottle, pictured below. Managing Director Simon has teamed up with his wife Alison, who is Chair of an incredible charity, to make this raffle possible.

Tickets for the raffle are £5 each and all money raised goes directly to Scottish Love in Action, www.sla-india.org, the only Scottish-based charity working with grassroot partners in India to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the world. They are responsible for the Asritha Rainbow Home and Voice4Girls campaigns.
Asritha Rainbow Home rescues girls from the streets of Hyderabad, rehabilitating them and enabling them to take up their education, with more than 80% of girls graduating from high school.
Voice4Girls run educational camps for adolescent girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, teaching them their basic rights to stay in education, not marry young, and take control of their lives.
This is such an amazing cause that we here at 2Circles are eager to get involved in. Please feel free to donate to this awesome charity and have a chance of winning a Ceilidh bottle for yourself.
